Pirouettes are a Hunter Douglas exclusive, combining the look and functionality of a fabric shade with UV filtering and variable light control. The fabric veins come in either 4 or 5 inch sizes. When the shade is lowered, the veins will be in the flat position. Once the shade reaches it’s full length, the veins can be opened in a way that can be described as the capital letter “I” being pinched to the shaped of the capital letter “C” leaving space between the material veins that allow you to enjoy your view filtered up to 81% of UV rays. In this sense it is similar to the Silhouette, but the big difference is that you get the full unobstructed view of the fabric on the inside of the home when flat.
The Pirouette veins can also be slightly opened or “pinched” to give the shade a contoured look similar to that of a roman shade, completely opened to make that “C” look flattened with minimal rounding for maximum filtered view.
